The European CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) defines the obligation of companies to issue a report of sustainability in 3 areas:

  • E – Environmental
  • S – Social
  • G – Governance

Financial year of the first ESG report

Mandatory for companies meeting the following criteria

2025

2026

Large companies meeting 2 of the 3 following criteria:

  • 250 or more employees
  • net annual turnover min. 50 million EUR
  • balance sheet total min. 25 million EUR

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) traded on the stock market

Consolidated report for groups outside the EU (net turnover over EUR 100 million and with at least 1 subsidiary or branch in the EU)

Monitoring of ESG impacts in the value chain

  • Your customers and suppliers will require information from you for their ESG reports
  • If your company has an ESG report, it will have a competitive advantage
  • Banks will not provide loans to companies for projects that are not sustainable
  • For many end consumers, the sustainability of a company is becoming a decision-making criterion
